Virtual workshop

about

An introductory program for mental health and health professionals who want to begin integrating somatic thinking and practices into their existing work, or review what they are already doing through a trauma-informed practice lens.

We look at some of the foundations of Yoga and somatic practice, including the relationship between the nervous system, body, choice, interoception and gentle embodied movement. There is time to experience practices as well as consider how they might sit alongside your existing professional framework and scope.

I recommend this program for people beginning to explore somatic or body-based practices within their professional work, as well as those already using them who want to review their approach through a trauma-informed lens.

It is also my recommended starting point for non-Yoga teachers considering the 30hr Trauma-Informed Yoga Facilitation Training, including people with an established personal Yoga practice.

What we’ll cover

  • An introduction to Yoga and somatic practice through a trauma-informed lens.

  • Trauma, chronic stress and the nervous system.

  • Interoception, choice, agency and autonomy within embodied practice.

  • Experiencing and reflecting on gentle somatic and Yoga-based practices.

  • Integrating somatic practices while remaining within your professional scope.

No previous Yoga or somatic training is required.

What you'll leave with

  • Session recording (so you can attend live or access it later)

  • PDF workbook
